Assistant Director, Regional Programs

Position Summary InformationJob Description Summary The Assistant Director is responsible for working closely with numerous constituencies to enhance Babson's relationship with its 41,000+ alumni through an integrated strategy that relies heavily on volunteer recruitment and management as well as cross-campus collaborations. Specifically responsible for working with alumni clubs around the world to develop programs and keep channels of communication open between the College and volunteers; serving as the primary liaison between assigned regional alumni clubs and on-campus resources; working to foster the regions' success by cultivating meaningful relationships between the College and alumni volunteers; working with volunteers to develop initiatives which will strengthen alumni connections to the College; connecting and working collaboratively with different College offices, faculty, staff, and student groups to bring alumni opportunities for engagement with current students and that support student recruitment and job placement; and collaborating with AFN colleagues to support special interest affinity, career and corporate affinity events in regions globally. Essential Responsibilities Key Responsibilities: o Manage multiple global alumni clubs, volunteer management, and programming associated with the regions. o Develop and communicate volunteer and leadership opportunities to alumni and friends network. o Identify and cultivate alumni leadership volunteers for regional alumni club groups that align with departmental and institutional strategy. o Support, evaluate and, if appropriate, develop, regional alumni clubs that are College driven in mission, alumni supported in interest and leadership, and staff supported in activity. Seek opportunities to connect current students to alumni network through curricular and co-curricular events and programs. o Answer all alumni communication including requests and questions, manage and input data (via advancement services), contribute to data analysis, and track activities. o Work with alumni volunteers on club/network programs and initiatives. Oversee event logistics coordination with the Events Management Office. o Coordinate and contribute to post-event communication and reporting. o Work collaboratively with Development Office to identify prospective donors and develop plans for cultivation and solicitation of alumni and parents. o Work collaboratively with Advancement Services to maintain and update the alumni, parent, and friends of the College databases. Coordinates travel with faculty, staff, and departments and connects them with/or creates appropriate events. o Responsible for robust communications that include continually updated websites and events calendars for affinity programs. o Champion and provide methods to engage alumni network in campus events and programs. o Assume additional responsibilities as required. Minimum Experience Education Requirements: Minimum Level of Education Required Bachelor's Degree Position Knowledge/Skills & Abilities Requirements: o At least 4-6 years of experience in a related field. o Ability to understand and implement the strategic initiatives of the College. o Must have strong volunteer management skills. o Must show global competency, genuine interest in cultural explorations and a willingness to engage in active learning that enhances professional development and competencies. o Must have strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, and the ability to build relationships with a wide variety of individuals across many different cultures and levels. o Must have strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) as well as ability to work with the College's website in terms of updating and development. o Ability to work collaboratively with governance members, students, faculty, staff, and individuals from different cultures. o Ability to work independently and juggle multiple priorities. o Ability to facilitate introductions for Development Officers to new prospects, discovered through research or personal connections as well as to speak to fundraising priorities. o Must have a strong interest in volunteerism and ability to translate that to others. o Envisions and proposes new methods to perform tasks that support ET&A; takes thoughtful risks; and accepts new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results. o Anticipates and embraces change; demonstrates willingness to achieve, acquire, and utilize new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions. Working Conditions: o Must have had a valid unrestricted U.S. Driver's License for one year, and maintain throughout employment an insurable (as determined by the College's insurer's criteria) or a satisfactory driving record; must successfully complete and pass the College's vehicle training program within the first 60 days of employment; annual or more frequent review of employee's driving record based on the College insurer's criteria; and safety training as required by management. o Travel is required both domestically and internationally. o Must be able to work some weekends and evenings. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
