Director, Content Strategy

Position Summary InformationJob Description Summary The Director of Content Strategy is responsible for leading and implementing communications initiatives that create compelling messages and story lines that articulate Babson's values, distinctive degree and certificate programs, and bold vision for the future of entrepreneurial education and research. The Director of Content Strategy develops content shared across all of the College's channels (owned, earned, and paid) with a particular emphasis on digital media. This position oversees day-to-day management of the content strategy function, which is responsible for creating and optimizing editorial content for marketing and awareness campaigns using all of the channels available to Babson, developing audience and campaign specific messaging, and monitoring and assessing the content's performance. Partners collaboratively with senior leaders including marketing senior leadership, the Deans of Admission and Deans of the Graduate and Undergraduate schools, as well as other key College leaders to advance Babson's strategic goals. Essential Responsibilities Key Responsibilities: o Oversees the content strategy of all digital content platforms. Directs the development and creation of content (editorial, video, podcasts, and photography) for various platforms, social media, and paid advertising channels. Plays a key role in the development of any new content vehicle, web pages, e-newsletters, social media campaigns, publications, collateral, advertising, and direct mail. Ensures that content and ideas advance the College's brand and articulate its values. o Works especially closely with Babson's enrollment marketing teams and creative teams to create and implement effective editorial content strategies that attract and engage prospective students. Responsible for creating a content strategy to meet the enrollment and business objectives of the College, including but not limited to defining the content strategy plan and how its successful implementation will be measured; developing, aligning, and implementing strategic messaging to meet audience needs; and ensuring consistency in branding and graphic identity. o Responsible for editorial content planning and generation that advance Babson's strategic goals, with an emphasis on supporting initiatives established by the Chief Marketing Officer, the President's Office, Provost's Office, Alumni Affairs, and Development. o Plays a key role in the development of any new content vehicle such as web pages, e-newsletters, social media campaigns, and direct mail. Creates, maintains, and implements messaging platforms for specific programs and their audiences as needed, in collaboration with College Marketing senior leadership and relevant stakeholders across the College. o Ensures continual improvements to the performance of top-level web pages, with an emphasis on taxonomies, metadata frameworks, and sophisticated SEO, through their own work and the development and leadership of others on the content team. Analyzes data to make continuously informed decisions on content strategy. o Oversees all scheduling and logistics for digital content strategy including but not limited to creating and managing processes for sourcing news and story content; organizing and leading weekly content strategy planning meetings; developing, sharing, and maintain content strategy plans with campus partners; and maintaining and sharing editorial content calendars for digital and social media publishing that looks forward 7, 30, 60, and 90 days. o Edits all content written by the College Marketing team or submitted by campus partners for publication online/in print. Writes priority and confidential editorial content as requested. Serves as the content editor for the College's website. o Participates in the College's Crisis Response Team. o Assume additional responsibilities as needed. Supervises: Senior Manager, Thought Leadership Senior Brand Journalist Digital Content Manager Multimedia Producer Senior Copywriter Minimum Experience Education Requirements: Minimum Level of Education Required Bachelor's Degree Position Knowledge/Skills & Abilities Requirements: o At least 10+ years of proven experience in marketing communications management, content strategy, writing, and digital/print publishing. o Demonstrated success in development and execution of content strategy plans and programs that leverage a range of media and variety of channels including owned, earned, and paid. o Extensive knowledge and proven experience with digital media channels, including SEO, social integration, conversion optimization, paid promotions, tools, and metrics. o Exceptional message development and storytelling ability; proven and extensive writing and editing skills within a creative team. o Prior experience in managing and leading teams responsible for creating and implementing editorial calendars, style guides, communications plans, taxonomies, metadata frameworks, and content mitigation plans. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
